Give a Dog a Bone: Blogs About Pets and Toys

Hello world! My name is Mary, and my dog is my best friend. His name is Bandit, and he's a spunky little rescue. He hates to be left alone, and I'll admit that he once broke through a screen, walked several miles to where I was, and sat outside the cafe waiting for me. Since I work from home and don't go out often, I spend a lot of time with him. However, in most cases, owners would need to crate train their dogs in those situations. Anyway, wherever you are in your relationship with your dog, I hope you find what you need in this blog. It's going to be a mixture of fun tips, ideas, and facts. Enjoy!

Supplies To Get For Your New Dog

Amber Knight

If you have brought home a new dog then you want to be sure you get yourself all of the supplies that you should have to keep your new furry family member happy, safe and comfortable. If you are a first time dog owner or even if you haven't had a dog in your home for many years, you may be out of touch with all of the things that they should have. This article will help you to get everything for your new dog should have.

Dog bowls

You will of course have to have dog bowls for your dog's food and water. However, you shouldn't get just any dog bowls. You want ones that are the right size for them and ones that are either too heavy for them to tip over or that have a special grip on the bottom so your dog won't spill their food and water constantly. If you have adopted an adult dog that's very tall, then you should also consider getting them a special food station that lifts the bowls up higher so they won't have to stoop down low to eat which isn't good for them.

A dog bed

You should consider getting an appropriate sized dog bed for your dog. This will help you to teach them where you want them to go to when it is time for them to go to bed. It will also provide them with a comfortable area to lay so they won't always be on the hard ground or trying to climb onto your furniture in order to lay in comfort.

Nail clippers

If you are bringing home a puppy then make sure you get a good pair of nail clippers so you can start clipping their nails regularly from a young age. If you don't keep up with their mails on your own then you can end up with an adult dog who fights anyone who tries to clip them in the future.

Get ID tags

You also want to make sure you get custom dog ID tags engraved with your dog's name and your phone number. These tags should be on your dog's collar and the collar should be on your dog at all times. By having tags on your dog at all times you will have a much better chance of getting your dog back should they get out of your yard and get lost.
